Visual Arts

In a world where the impetus is to be creative thinkers, problem solvers and to possess an inquiry mindset, Visual Arts has never been more important.
Students at St. Joseph’s College engage in a range of Visual Arts experiences across their schooling and develop techniques in traditional artforms; painting, drawing and sculpture and contemporary practices; working with mixed media and digital technologies.
The Visual Arts department boasts three dedicated art and design studios and a Digital design lab equipped with the latest iMac Pros, coloured printer and industry standard software.
Once in the consolidation phase of their study at St. Joseph’s College, students have the opportunity to streamline their arts practices by engaging in courses ranging from Studio Arts, Visual Communications, Technical Drawing & Computer Aided Design and Media.
In all of the visual arts units, there is a focus on visual literacy, inquiry, technique development and creative thinking. Skills that will be invaluable for jobs of the future.
