Our Academic
Achievements

Striving for Excellence

At St Joseph's College one of our core values is to strive for excellence in everything we do and to celebrate our individual and collective success.

Success can look different for everyone but any achievement generally requires persistence, effort and hard work.

That's why at St Joseph's College, we recognise students not only for their academic success but also their endeavour. We do this by acknowledging their achievements across a range of disciplines and subject areas at our annual Semester 1 Academic Awards and end of year Awards Night.

These awards are an important opportunity to provide students with a sense of accomplishment and to encourage them to continue working hard but also to motivate other students and demonstrate what is possible.

In 2023, we also introduced Overall Grades in our semester reports for students in Years 7 to 10.

These grades provide a comprehensive assessment of a student's performance in each subject, taking into account the marks they have earned throughout the semester.

This brings several advantages for families and students. It allows greater tracking of progress and ability to identify patterns or trends in academic performance over time and also serves as a useful tool for goal setting and motivation to strive for better grades.

We recognise that a well-rounded education encompasses more than just academic performance. A student's involvement in extracurricular activities, personal growth, and unique talents also contribute to their overall development.
